About me
I am Pradyumna, born and brought up in Bangalore, Engineer by profession, Poet by hobby, working as Program Manager for an MNC. I am a travel freak since my college days. Nature, new places and the knowledge you gain has always fascinated me and will continue to do so. There is a saying in Kannada “Desha suttabeku, Kosha oodabeku” meaning “Travel across countries/places, Read history”.
I wanted to see entire Karnataka before visiting any place outside. What better way to start than my own state. I am always obsessed with
1. Trekking – to explore the unseen nature and life associated with it
2. Biking – to know places, the culture and people
3. Photography – capture that world through my eyes
My experiments started with trekking in the Western Ghats to a place called Yaana. When I was in high school, my brother took me to this place. It gained momentum and inspired me to seek unknown paths, and routes untrodden with the help of my GPS and maps I got from Geological Survey of India. The core jungles exposed me to the beauty, serenity, silence and hidden dangers of nature.
Biking started as a passion when I was just 16, which took a new face after I got my Yamaha RX100. This passion has shown me the length and breadth of Karnataka from Bijapur to Bandipur, Kasargod to Hosur and many more places in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
Photography was in hand with my biking or trekking. I started using the camera at the age of 8, when I got HotShot small as a gift. It used to shoot 16 snaps in one film roll. Then I moved to Yashica and Minolta… all of them analog aim and shoot with build in zoom. The first digital experience came when my brother brought a Sony. Floppy drive used to store the pictures. I put my hand on Sony Cybershot P72 in 2002-2003. This gave me enough of exposure to experiment.
I had always dreamt of owning a SLR, but did not want to go the route of analog as it was expensive. My brother did his share of analog photography with Canon 1N on slides and I enjoyed being a onlooker shooting in my P72 until I got myself a Canon 40D.
You see my obsession here, may it be trekking, travel or photography. There’s so much to see and so less time, “See and enjoy don’t touch and destroy”.
